Just watched the film by jack neo today. Wonderful show, and I really could relate to the emotions, the problems that the teachers faced. alot of times, you are doomed to being hated, like the teacher Mr Fu. He is undoubtably passionate. But he fails because he did not praise the students enough. But praising students, does it really work?
If you trea tthe students well, you are assuming they will appreciate. But will they? Or will they take your weakness as a sign of weakness? This is an issue not addressed by Mr Neo. Can you really get normal tech classes to settle dwn like in the movie? I dunno, but my guess is not very.
Its really cyclical, you scold for them to keep quiet, but the more you yell, the louder they become. Or you keep your voice low, and they do not respond at all.
You are damn if u do and damn if u don't.
